Earlier this year we, at Totally Dazzled, set out to make our very first lookbook and it was an absolutely fantastic project. The lovely ladies over at Distinct Occasions helped us create our styles and put together the final project.
The black and white style is modern and clean and we've added our favorite touches of bling from our clear stone and silver range to the mix but really, you could add any bling of your choice. With that said, I'm super excited to introduce our black and white 2016 lookbook style.

Black and white events are pretty popular and are always fun to put together as there is a mountain of amazing ideas that really make this theme come alive. For our lookbook images, we decided to style the black and white wedding theme with a pop of color and we chose a pretty tiffany blue for that which stands out beautifully against the stark background.
While the wedding suite does not have any color, we've added depth to the design by choosing an exciting handwritten font with pretty ligatures and we've played around a bit with the sizing and shadows just to give the design that little bit of extra dimension. As a final touch, we added the gorgeous crystal buckle slide to parts of the suite.
I absolutely love how this tablescape turned out. While the setting is quite simple, it's absolutely glamorous at the same time. We decided to mirror our choice of crystal buckle slide with clear glassware that just highlights the sparkle we love. We used the crystal napkin ring to keep the look uniform across the various design elements. However, there's nothing stopping you from using any combination of sparkle or type of embellishment.
Possibly my favorite part of this project was putting together the sweets table...for obvious reasons. These jars combined with the black and white ribbon and buckle slides made for excellent treat table decorations. As we were putting this table of treats together, we thought that these would be great to use for market days as well as inside the home as glam home decor.
Set the scene with your chosen hint of color and use it to add something special to your place settings. We always like the idea of using a brightly colored napkin with a sparkling napkin ring or, of course, a wedding (or party) favor. Here we've chosen a pretty blue box, decorated it with the same ribbons seen on some of the other table elements and topped it off again with our crystal buckle slide.
When it comes to flowers, I absolutely adore all kinds. What I couldn't help noticing is that the stark black and white theme brings out the colors of this bouquet in a spectacular way. I think this is a huge advantage of a black- and white-themed event. Play around with your florals and the color choices of your florals to really add a whole new level to your wedding reception and event decor. You could even take this one step further and add bling embellishments to your flowers for that extra bit of glam.
This small detail makes a big difference when looking at the table setting as a whole. We added the embellishments directly onto the candles but if you would prefer to add it to the glass, there are a huge variety of ways to do so.
The bow-fold napkin makes me think a lot of the black and white events where the men wear bow ties. It's a super cute way to add that formal detail to your table setting and it's a very easy fold to achieve. Add some sparkle to the mix and the place setting is complete.
I'm always in search of budget DIYs that aren't too complicated to achieve and his table runner is just one of those. We took a length of fabric and simply tied the ends with a buckle slide and elastic, it looks great and is easily adjustable.
These are just a few ways to customize your wedding items with bling. I love the idea of making accessories that suit your wedding design and even mirrors your decor. This way you know your wedding has that seamless look and feel. Plus, who doesn't love a bit of bling?
I'll be sharing more of our lookbook items, so be sure to check them out and leave a comment to let us know what you think of the images.
