2016 was a lovely year. It was a year of growth, new experiences, a few challenges, and so many amazing memories. One of my favorite memories was putting together the lookbook with 8 individual styles to cater for a variety of tastes. Gina Humilde and Crystal Adair-Benning from Distinct Occasions were part of this exciting project and it was absolutely fantastic working with them. I’m already looking forward to 2017’s lookbook.
Of course, we’ve already shared some of these images on our social media pages so if you follow us regularly, you may recognize a few of them. If you’re looking for more lookbook inspiration, you’ll find it at the end of the post, so keep reading and enjoy!

This chair design is easily one of my favorites as it exceeded my expectations. Not only does it look fantastic, it communicates the beach look we were going for to the tee. The addition of the gold starfish ties the design in but the breezy underwater look of this chair sash is pure gold. If you’re trying out different color combinations and design details, adapting your chair design is as simple as trying out different rhinestone embellishments, a different color chair sash, or making use of a different pattern.
Gorgeously styled place settings can communicate the feel of a table effectively
One of my favorite things to put together when it comes to events or weddings is the individual place setting. No matter how you decide to tackle this challenge, the goal will always be the same, to create a space that is inviting, creative and complete. A special seat where your guests will spend time creating memories at your event. At any event or wedding, there are endless options and ways to style place settings but one of the simplest and most effective ways to create a pretty space that doesn’t look empty or incomplete is to add a pretty napkin with a gorgeous embellishment that suits the event theme.
We used the Starfish napkin ring for this place setting to match the starfish brooch found on the chair design.
Wedding favors aren’t only a great way to thank your guests for attending your special event or big day, they can also become a lovely keepsake. I’m a big fan of gifts that can be re-used in other ways so candy jars with a bling embellishment like the one we made for this beach-themed style are perfect. Once the candy is done, your guests will love re-using the jars.
We felt the coral beach theme needed a relaxed feel when it came to the stationery without sacrificing the glitter and glamor that we so love. We chose a lovely font that suited this well and embossed it with a gold setting. While the font communicates a more laid back feel, the gold adds a whole lot of sparkle and gives the wedding invite a well-considered look. I love this idea and it looks great with a large variety of fonts. Play around with your color choices, add a button or slider buckle to the wedding suite to add even more detail and have fun.
Wedding favors come in all shapes and sizes but it’s not just wedding favors that can do with a bit of sparkle. We chose embellishments that suit the theme and added them to a variety of favor packages. It’s also a great idea to add some sparkle to your wedding accessories. Bags, shoes, flowers arrangements, vases, gift packages, table numbers and table ware all look fantastic with a touch of sparkle.
One of the things I really wanted to experiment with was the design of shoes. Typically at a wedding, guests wear formal shoes. However, outdoor and beach weddings, guests CAN be excused for donning footwear that feels a little more comfortable and won’t sink into the earth. If you’re the kind of bride who doesn’t want sandals but would prefer a glamorous flat for your beach wedding, then add a brooch or button to the shoe is a fantastic idea. Whether you choose sequined shoes like we did for extra glam or something plain, the embellishment will look stunning and adds a unique touch to your wedding day that no-one else will have.
Sandals are also a great option for a beach wedding. Some brides are even offering custom-made flip flops for their guests to ensure that the day is comfortable for everyone. Often, the problem with wearing shoes at the beach, as we all know, is that the sand slips into the shoes. With sandals or flip flops, you and your guests simply won’t have to worry about unwanted sand in your shoes at all.
This closeup of the chair design shows how amazing the sparkle looks on the chair sash. Adding your favorite pieces is so easy, giving you full control over the look and feel of your event.
That’s it, don’t forget to take a look at the 7 other styles we lovingly put together and let me know what you think.
