Our lookbook launched a few months ago and many of you will have seen the images being shared across the Totally Dazzled Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest pages already. I wanted to collect our thoughts in a blog post dedicated to each style and give you a bit of insight into the individual projects.
Before I get into the vintage pink and pearl style, I must add that this project was incredibly fun to put together. I was lucky to be working with the lovely Crystal Adair-Benning and Gina Humilde from Distinct Occasions to make the dream of our very first lookbook come true and the results are spectacular. I can't wait to start planning the next one!

The gorgeous vintage pink and pearl part of the lookbook is an ode to days gone by with beautiful details that take you back to the 20's. While we haven't fully explored the vintage theme, we wanted to add some of the gentle feminine beauty that that era had through the addition of the pearls to this style.
For the wedding suite design, we opted for something minimal and used gold foil embossing to add some luxury to the stationery. Finding balance when you're using minimalism is really important in order for your designed items to look complete as opposed to empty or unfinished. We chose to add two types of pearl embellishments to balance these stationery items out; the round rhinestone pearl flat back and the circle diamante flat back and the result was fantastic.
The menu design shown here is part of the wedding stationery suite and we kept it gloriously minimal using only the round rhinestone pearl flat back as an embellishment. The minimal look of the menu here works so well here placed against the backdrop of the plate's intricate design.
To enhance the feeling of luxury and sophistication, we used a simple but very elegant napkin fold and topped it off with our flower rhinestone napkin ring in gold. The satin sheen further adds to the lovely soft feel that the pink gives to the table setting while the napkin ring brings that vintage feel to the table.
There are a number of ways to decorate a place setting for weddings and events. Placing the guests' wedding favors on their plates is a fantastic idea and it could potentially save you a few extra dollars here and there as you would not have to find another way to display the favors. We used a pretty bag, a bit of lace, and the flower rhinestone and pearl brooch in gold to create this lovely wedding favor that still fits the minimalist style we're going for.
I'm a huge fan of pulling design details through to create continuity and a bit of unity in design pieces that would be otherwise unconnected (especially if you're planning a rustic, bohemian or vintage wedding theme.) We applied that continuity to these design pieces by sticking to white elements across the tableware and making use of metallic colors to mirror the gold and silver rhinestone pieces. The flower rhinestone and pearl brooch in gold was used for the frames and the jug along with the circle diamante flat back. We used the flower rhinestone napkin ring for the napkin.
There are other elements that can be put together stylishly, even on a budget. Using a mix of rhinestone embellishments, ribbons, lace, rosettes, pearls, and so, so much more you can really put together a stunner of an event. We used a pearl and rhinestone flower button on the vintage sweet jar (again, another way to tie the overall theme together with the smaller design elements).
It's a fantastic idea making a dummy cake for photographic and display purposes. This small dummy cake looks pretty in pink, white, and pearl. We used a mix of our silver rhinestone and pearl pieces for this project.
DIYs don't always end up being the more cost-effective option so as we were putting this project together we focused on DIYs that would be truly cost-effective AND practical. These tableware and decor pieces are the kind of items you could add to your home, or send home with your guests as a gift. You may even have a few of these items in your cupboards at home but you'd like to spice them up a bit with some sparkle...and it's so easy to do.
This is such a simple idea but it turned out to be one of my favorites. It also happens to be one of our 1-minute DIY projects and really all it requires is a string of pearls and a flower rhinestone and pearl brooch in gold or two.
Adding bling to fashion items or wedding wear is one of my favorite quick DIY ideas. And it's a great way to recycle your wedding wear in a fresh way. For example, if you use rhinestone brooches you could, quite literally, change the look up each time you use the accessories at very low cost. We used the timeless round rhinestone pearl flat back to add a bit of sparkle to a clutch and a matching pair of shoes and in an instant, already beautiful accessories became absolutely stunning.
Bridal bouquets are among the most important elements of wedding planning. Each bridal bouquet not only communicates the bride's own character but is also in-line with the theme of theme of the wedding, matching flower arrangements seen elsewhere, like on the tables or lining the isle. Brooch bouquets are quickly becoming the popular choice for brides who want to keep their wedding bouquet perfectly locked in time. we wanted to add just a few elements to a mostly floral bouquet to showcase just how beautiful the bling looks in between the flowers. These gold pieces with their fine detail are absolutely gorgeous and suited the bouquet as well as the vintage and pink theme.
As of the date of this post going live, these pieces have not been released on totallydazzled.com yet but they will be coming soon and this post will be updated as soon as they arrive.
Using the bling pieces that you love, can be a great way of taking a bouquet of simple flowers up a notch. In this case, the flowers aren't simple per se but the color choice is. These beautiful pieces have not launched yet but will be launching soon.
