We’ve showcased a number of wedding invitation posts on our blog before from various crafters around YouTube. I love how each and every one has a unique voice and the style differs from crafter to crafter. Sweet papery treasures have designed beautiful Mother’s day cards that she shared with us recently. They’re absolutely gorgeous and resemble gift packaging, complete with a touch of elegant bling.
There are variations of the cards, a gift bag, and even a custom made bangle to match the set. I love all of the ideas that sweet papery treasures has shared with us. She has used paper stock, ribbon and a few of our flower rhinestone and pearl flat backs to create her cards. Using a soft pastel palette for this with a bright and beautiful floral pattern, she’s also brought through the fresh feel of spring in her cards. The satin ribbon also lends to the soft feel of spring, and its sheer metallic feels a bit like flowing water over the flowers. I simply love it.
While I’m aware that these cards were designed for Mother’s day, I feel like they would make stunning special occasion cards too. A beautiful card and gift bag for an expectant mom, a pretty “I’m just thinking of you” gift for a best friend or a gloriously floral birthday card for someone who appreciates spring and all its splendor as much as we do.
These cards are stunning. While Sweet Papery Treasures doesn’t take us through the design process step by step, she does verbalize her thought process for us, telling us about simple ideas on how to vary the designs. I love how this DIY has the potential to be whatever you want it to be with your own particular style shining through. From the choice of paper, patterns, colors, ribbons and bling pieces, the sky is your limit and you can get as creative as you like. There is no wrong or right here.
The bangle is also a lovely touch. As sweet papery treasures mentions, we are moving into prom season and this would make a very pretty armband. I also love the idea of tying a bouquet of flowers with a pretty ribbon and bling piece similar to that of the bangle.
There is so much feminine glam in these items. I simply LOVE the matching gift bag, such a great idea to use as a gift set for someone. No doubt that mom absolutely enjoyed her gifts and special cards from Sweet Papery Treasures this Mother’s day.
