We recently interviewed a bridal coach and can’t wait to share her innovative approach to the wedding planning industry with you. This post is for the hands-on bride who wants to tackle her wedding with style, grace, and knowledge. Emily Janick, Bridal Coach and Instructor for The Bride School, can teach you how to put your dream wedding together at half the cost of a conventional wedding planner – plus it allows you to be hands-on with your own wedding ideas.
Having started in the industry as a bride and a new mom, Emily was planning her own wedding on a tight budget and decided to immerse herself in the process and armed herself with as much knowledge as she could about wedding planning. Going on to achieve her certification through the Association of Bridal Consultants in 2015, Emily realized that she enjoyed the organizational tasks that wedding plan requires and acquiring new knowledge about the process. It was this that sparked the idea for an online academy for hands-on brides of all kinds (and budgets).
Essentially, Emily's service is an online wedding planning school. Yes, you read that right. She offers brides the opportunity to learn industry skills planners leverage to make planning a wedding fun and easy, taking brides-to-be step by step through the process of planning their wedding, giving them access to professional proven strategies, tools and live group coaching to ensure the day runs smoothly. This not only opens up a variety of options to the bride who wants to keep her plans close to her heart (and hands) but it also opens up an opportunity for brides with a small budget to achieve the wedding of their dreams. Emily stated the following about her initial vision for her amazing idea:
“I designed this company to make self-planning easier and more time/cost efficient for the couple.”

Emily does offer select contract destination wedding planning services to brides planning in Northern Michigan, as she is a planner herself. However, her full-time position is working alongside her Bride School Scholars to ensure that they get value out of the School and walk away with a wedding that looks and feels like it was planned by a professional. Emily explained to us that the School was designed to imitate her own organizational + design process that she follows with her contract clients. The course is available from any device, doable at the brides own pace, and the content is laid out in a step by step training membership saving the bride even more time on learning the complex new material.
Emily’s proudest moment in the business was helping one of her brides reach her goal and set up her dream wedding on a very small budget, showing that the School does work and can efficiently help brides create a spectacular wedding. Her bride was able to plan a chauffeured beach wedding with a reception at a local 5-star hotel and all of this was achieved even though the bride was 300 miles away.
One of our favorite questions to ask our wedding experts centers on their favorite trends. Emily loves the floral and greenery combination along with the candle and fairy light trends we’ve been seeing recently.
The Bride School will be opening very soon and we're all waiting in anticipation for its launch. Stay tuned and receive updates by subscribing to the newsletter on Emily's site.
