Michelle Isabel's work is timeless, graceful and gorgeously elegant.

I had the opportunity to chat to Michelle from Michelle Isabel and Co about her experience as a wedding planner and the work she does. Her portfolio is absolutely amazing and her track record is outstanding with reviews (or love notes) from her brides that are worth bragging about.

Michelle, who initially wanted to become a lawyer and soon realized that it was not the path for her, joined a startup company after graduating college. Having also been the catering manager, venue manager and event planner at a university for two years, she combined the knowledge and experience she’s received at the start-up company with her events experience and started Michelle Isabel & Co.

Michelle has a lively and refreshing character that shines through her website and the way she interacts with her clients. Her strong sense of design and a keen eye for detail has given her the edge she needs to create stunning weddings that are both memorable and beautiful. As we all know, planning a wedding is not simply about putting together décor and design bits but it’s also about the professional manner in which individual vendors are handled, hiccups and even bigger problems are taken care of and, of course, how well the concept comes together in the end. Michelle has these covered and almost all of her brides will tell you, she’s got you on your big day.

Focussing on the art of planning, Michelle Isabel & Co are intentional in their designs. They create a concept or a theme that relays the character of each bride almost effortlessly, creating timeless and graceful celebrations this way. Their goal is for couples to reflect on their wedding day and think that if they could redo their wedding, they wouldn’t change a thing.

The couples Michelle and her team work with mean everything to them and fuel the motivation behind the business.

Michelle Isabel & Co provide an exceptional service that results in a high-level client experience. She also strives to educate her couples as the process goes along. Michelle ensures that she and her team takes on a limited number of weddings per year in order to be available to her couples when they need her. One of the things that immediately stood out to me on her website is how comfortable she is with her clients while keeping things professional.

One of the things that set Michelle Isabel & Co aside as a business is their love for new trends and technology. Keeping things up to date and organized is absolutely vital to the planning process.

“Having an organized backend system and a professional client portal for our clients is critical to making sure nothing falls through the cracks.”

Growing her team has been a business highlight for Michelle. Although, she does stress that they celebrate small accomplishments daily to keep morale high. Growing the team, however, has allowed Michelle to take on more weddings instead of turning brides away. Her team members were trained to be professional and have a similar planning and communication style to Michelle’s in order to keep things unified. If Michelle is not personally able to attend the wedding, which is a priority for her, then her associate manages the day. Michelle is still 100% involved in the planning process though. 

When asked about her favorite trends for 2017, Michelle was very clear about her go-to trends for the year. Her graceful and timeless celebrations call for a minimalist elegant color palette. In order to achieve the looks she sets out to create, she makes use of neutral color palettes with a splash of color. For fall and winter, she’ll be making use of dark purples, blues, and blacks. Her Pinterest feed is full of white and, of course, Pantone’s gorgeous color of the year that we all love, greenery.
