Outdoor weddings have always piqued my interest as there is so much inspiration to draw from and stunning small details that can be used that make an event an amazing experience. The woodlands theme is absolutely amazing and I love the romantic touches that make this theme charming. From the outdoor fairy lights to the moss-covered logs (and even cakes!), I love it all.
While the woodlands wedding theme is actually a lot like the outdoor and garden themes, there’s a definite look and feel to it that sets it apart. Over and above the moss-covered logs and stunning wooden details, this theme perfectly blends the natural world with the elegance of the wedding world and it’s done through the use of a wide variety of materials, textures and even colors. Taking inspiration from the way the forest grows naturally, event planners mirror the forest floor and design décor items that make you feel like you’ve just walked into the fairytale dream set in the heart of the forest.
Ok, so moss and mushrooms are not every bride’s thing but before you give this theme a miss, just take a look at what the creative stylists, designers, and event planners out there have come up with to make a woodlands wedding feel surreal and elegant. Some of the images are absolutely out of this world gorgeous!
Adding bling isn’t out of the question, either, even though this theme lends most of its inspiration from the natural world. I love what I read on one of the blogs. Even the natural world is full of bling! You just have to dig to find it. Rose gold pairs exceptionally well with the woodlands wedding themed décor and design. Pearl accents would also look absolutely stunning if used within the design elements. The Diamante Flower Buttons, for example, would be perfect as a subtle design detail on a natural table setting, as the bling element on a bouquet of flowers. The key to adding a bit of sparkle in the Woodlands theme is subtlety.
Planning a wedding is not just about how it looks to the people attending, it’s about what it makes us feel. It’s a memory that everyone can savor for a lifetime and really give the bride and groom a moment in time that is only theirs.
