A recurring theme on our blog has been simple and cost-effective DIY projects that add a whole lot of sparkle to your wedding or event. Forlisa Nauling has put together a gorgeous set of DIYs that are super simple and as cost-effective as they come, using a few of our rhinestone products along with items that she already had in her craft box and home décor.
The first DIY that she takes us through in her video is a beautiful butterfly napkin ring. For this project, she combined the rhinestone butterfly brooch with adhesive bling wrap (we don’t stock adhesive bling wrap but we DO stock bling wrap in silver, gold and our latest edition – rose gold).
Forlisa measured her bling wrap around a napkin that she had previously rolled up to gauge the width of the napkin ring. She cut 4 lines of stones (for width) from her roll of bling wrap. You could make this as wide as you prefer to suit your theme. The bling wrap formed the basis of her napkin ring (couldn't be simpler) and the butterfly brooch added a lovely touch to an already pretty napkin ring.
What I love about this project is that there are countless ways to customise it and make it your own. Plus, it’s so quick to put together – making it a great DIY for parties or events where there are a large number of guests and you might want to keep your projects as effortless as possible without losing that gorgeous glam factor.
The second DIY is just as easy to put together and makes for a stunning addition to a bouquet of flowers or as a place setting decoration for a floral, spring, summer, feminine, rustic or even white-themed event. You could actually use this in just about any event and it would look gorgeous.
Forlisa took a white rose that she had previously bought and glued our silver floral rhinestone flat back to the middle of it. As always, we suggest a strong glue as the pieces can tend to be quite heavy as they’re great quality. And just like that, she transformed a rose into a bling rose. The hints of sparkle always look great among other floral elements and can absolutely bring a table to life!
We’ve seen a good number of great tutorials from our customers and YouTube friends and we’re always excited to share them with you as they make DIYing and crafting a whole lot easier. We’ve also been very lucky to partner with some amazing and talented people. Forlisa has another video coming up for us very soon, showcasing a stunning tablescape in which she used these two bling products to glam up her dining room.
Forlisa has a YouTube channel - Home Body With Forlisa that has inspired us and we want you to be inspired too! For daily inspiration and tips and tricks, you can also follow her on Instagram and Facebook.
