Rayna Wallen from Lúnasa Events gave us an overview of her work as a wedding planner, passion for travel, as well as how her business started.
Lúnasa Events is a wedding and events planning company that stands out for its bold take on design. With a full portfolio to boast about and a collection of happy clients, Lúnasa Events is making waves in the wedding industry.
Rayna Wallen, the founder of Lúnasa Events, started her company as "Always Planned" over ten years ago. At first, the company only offered wedding consulting but since then, the business has grown exponentially to include a full range of wedding services, allowing Rayna and her team to be totally hands-on with the design and planning. They now offer destination weddings as well as multi-day events in Mexico, the Caribbean, and Ireland. Having recently rebranded to celebrate their 10th birthday, Rayna is excited to be taking the next steps forwards and upwards.
The Lúnasa team has over 30 years of experience in the hospitality and events industry. Adding to their number of years in the industry, their team is also bi-lingual as well as bi-cultural, allowing them a more diverse reach both in the creative as well as logistics part of the event planning.

“There have been several amazing moments, but I have to say when I won the SBA Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Accepting it at the capitol and having dinner in the governor’s mansion was a real treat.”
We asked Rayna what her proudest moment in the business was and while there are many amazing moments that she can look back on with pride, being nominated for and winning the SBA Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award was definitely a fulfilling moment in her career.
Their events have a great range of styles and concepts. Just a quick scan through the portfolio page shows will have you wanting to see it all. If you have some time, browse through the various galleries and enjoy the moments caught on camera. Their weddings each have a unique signature and the details capture the theme perfectly (not to mention the beautiful photography).
She is also the creator of the first, and only, free wedding resource studio in Kentucky. Simply Love Studio offers a 6-week educational course for couples planning their wedding. She’s also the proud founder of the Venue Hop, a bridal show on wheels.
At the time of the interview, Rayna and her fiancé, Joe, were in the process of planning their own wedding. They have since tied the knot and their wedding can be viewed on their gallery page. We’ve included their wedding as one of our favorites (which is always so hard to choose) because of its beautiful moody, dark palette and gorgeous design details.
Rayna’s trend loves this year include the pairing of moody jewel tones with a soft shade of blue and peach. As she mentions to us, the contrast is beautiful and unique to her.
