Valentine's Day Home Decor Inspiration

Sparkle and Shine this Valentine's day

February has quietly snuck up on us, it seems, without warning. I can’t believe how quickly the first month of the year has gone by. I’m not complaining, though, as we all know February is the month of love and it’s one that is full of sparkle and shine for many people.

Although we generally consider Valentine’s Day to be for those who are in love, we can celebrate it in many different ways. Kids can show their appreciation to parents with sweet handmade cards from school; moms can show their doting love to their children with hugs, kisses and maybe a treat or two; friends can strengthen bonds on Valentine’s day by exchanging heartfelt gifts. Of course, this day is not just about giving gifts or cards but there’s no doubt that receiving a gift does bring a smile to your face.

Actually, Valentine’s Day, like all the other major holidays, is a day commemorating personal ties. It’s a day dedicated to remembering that love is important and should be appreciated. It’s a way to say thank you for all that a loved one does for you. The easiest way to do this is by giving a gift but gifts don’t always have to be physical. It’s possible to give the gift of time, to give the gift of attention, to give the gift of friendship. I’ve always believed that the best gift given is a gift you KNOW the recipient wants or needs. It’s not always easy to figure out what someone needs but if we listen carefully to a person and we start to know them, it is possible. That is the best kind of gift, the one that is spot on! So even though the shops are full of red, white and pink running up to Valentine’s day, that may not be what your significant other, loved one or friend needs in order to feel loved.

If you’re entertaining for Valentine’s Day, and need some inspiration, you can check out the Totally Dazzled Pinterest page where we’ve bookmarked all our favorite Valentine’s day tutorials, ideas, and tips from around the web. Whether you're looking for the perfect tablescape, or a cute gift DIY, you'll find it on our Valentine's board. There are still two weeks left to put together your gifts and special letters. It’s the perfect time to get crafty and DIY it up. I love the rhinestone heart buckle along with a bright red or white ribbon to add a special sparkling touch to your gift wrapping.

The silver diamante double heart buckle is another fantastic option for gift wrapping or card embellishments. The slider buckles are so easy to use as you simply slide them onto ribbons. Varied ribbon widths create different looks so if you’d like to create that rich special ruffled look, simply make use of a ribbon with a wider width.

Whatever you may be giving your loved ones this valentines day, whether it’s something tangible, a moment of your time or simply a heartfelt card, give it with your heart and it will be the best gift you can give.
